New Supermarket Chain Creates Jobs in the North

11/12/2009

Branded Asco, the new stores are hoping to offer a real alternative to the current supermarkets offering different brands and targeting shoppers who prefer to shop little and often. It has not been confirmed if the name is an amalgamation of Asda & Tesco, instead preferring to leave it as a bit of a mystery.

Having just launched their first new store in Warrington that have already created 65 jobs and there are more to come with the next stores planned for Runcorn and St Helens before Christmas.

Over-all Asco are planning to launch 30 new stores over the next 3 years creating up to 3,000 jobs. Applications are invited through their website with the ethos ‘previous retail experience is not important, personality is’.

Only time will tell if they succeed in this competitive market but with plans to go Nationwide you could be welcoming the new blue and white Asco logo to a town near you.
